Every year in Houston, the Colombian Consulate and local Colombian organizations organize a "novena colombiana navideña", a traditional Colombian Christmas celebration, in order to unite the community and preserve traditional customs. This event is for the entire family, and features a live nativity scene, singing by a Colombian choir, photos with Santa, and gifts for all of the children.
