Jarritos Sponsors 2nd Annual Day of the Dead Celebration in Atlanta

Atlanta's 2nd Annual Day of the Dead Celebration Sponsors, 11/6/11

On Sunday, November 6, Jarritos will again be a sponsor of Atlanta's 2nd Annual Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) Celebration. This free celebration will be held in Atlantic Station in Midtown Atlanta, and features traditional ofrendas (altars) created by members of the community, as well as live music and cultural performances, samples and sales of tasty Jarritos, Mineragua, Mundet and Sangría Señorial along with other authentic Latino delicacies, and arts and crafts.

The celebration of Día de los Muertos originates from the Aztec festival for the goddess of the underworld and the Spanish conquistadors' All Saints/Souls Day. Typically celebrated on the 2nd of November throughout Mexico, it is the day when adult souls are welcomed back home, and families prepare their favorite meals and their favorite beverages to nourish their dead, creating beautifully-decorated altars (ofrendas) in their homes and at their gravesites that feature their favorite foods and beverages, along with decorations including sugar candy skulls, sweet breads, and marigolds, the Mexican flower of the dead.

This is a wonderful cultural event celebrating one of Mexico's most important holidays, and we salute Lanza Group for organizing this celebration in Atlanta! For additional information, please go to http://www.facebook.com/AtlantaDayoftheDead?sk=wall
